Tyla Cancels Tour, Coachella, & More Due to Health Battle: “I’m Heartbroken”

Published: Thursday 7th Mar 2024 by Sam

Tyla made a splash with her breakout smash ‘Water’ and it saw a flood of opportunities flow her way.

However, a private health battle has seen the rising star forced to put her live plans on ice.

Full story below…

The South African stage blazer was set to wow on her first headlining world tour – which would have taken her across North America and Europe. She was also set to perform at a slew of festivals – including Coachella.

However, in an emotional address to fans, Tyla shared that she has privately been battling “agonizing” pain and must cancel all the dates.

She wrote:

“My Tygers,

All of you know that this moment you have all helped me transform into a reality, has been a life-long dream. I am so grateful and humbled by this past year and the way it’s changed my life.

I can never thank you guys enough for all your loving support, all the joy, the laughter, and the wins!

As much as this is something I would rather have dealt with privately, Its important that I share what I have to share with you today. For the past year I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened. I’ve seen doctors and specialists with high hopes but the pain has only become more agonizing as has the severity of the situation.

I am absolutely heartbroken to have to say this but as of right now I won’t be able to proceed with the tour.

In consulting with medical professionals it’s become increasingly clear that continuing any festival or tour dates would jeopardize my long-term health and safety.

Words cannot describe my frustration at this pivotal point in my career. So please know that my team and I are working diligently on a spectacular show for you as soon as I am recovered and ready to return safely onstage this summer.

For North American headline dates, your tickets will automatically be refunded, for all other territories you will be contacted by your ticket provider regarding options, please keep a look out for new dates and information.

Thank you Tygers for understanding.

As of writing, Tyla’s debut, self-titled album remains due for release on March 22.

She doesn’t have what it takes to be a star. She should go back to the slum she came from ☺️

That’s good then. Mani has opportunity to ride on her wave for a bit. Tyla can comeback cause of Mani. They both have that Aaliyah aesthetics in their look and sound 🎵

Hope this is not a sick leave because the general public ticket sales didn’t match with industry demand. IMO rest up and put focus on a full album. She doesn’t have many songs to perform on a tour 🤷‍♀️
